Spotted Kittens Cattery Ocicat
The first Ocicat was the surprise side effect of an attempt to create a Siamese-style cat with Abyssinian-colored pointing in 1964. The experiment proved repeatable, and by 1966 this breed was accepted for registration by CFA, although it was not until 1987 that the breed was advanced to championship status in that association. It was not exported to Europe until the end of the 1980s, and was accepted in FIFe in 1992. "Ocicats" are active, affectionate, and very social. They are accepted for show only in the spotted pattern, but in several different colors. They are also available in many other patterns, such as classic, mackerel, and ticked tabby, but these are considered not showable. Despite their wild appearance, they are friendly, outgoing, people-oriented cats without being clingy or obnoxious. They are intelligent, devoted, highly adaptable companions. Ocicat kittens range in price from $500 to $900
